I, personally, hate foils - if there are foils (I believe I read somewhere that they were coming) please don't make foils that aren't represented by non-foil cards. I will gladly trade foils for non-foils any day of the week. (unless they are foil-only cards)

We plan to have foils in Ninpo. If budget allows, we will try to have them in Dark Union, too, but no guarantees.

Ha! I always thought it was funny that everyone knows "idc" stands for "i don't care" even thought it could just as easily stand for "i do care". Sorry!
Yay foils! Shiny cards mean more "look at me" interest for new demoees, especially the little ones. Helps with recruitment one way or the other...

I don't really care about foils either way but if they bring more people into the fold, I DO care! I think one question still has to be answered. Are foils going to be available in non-foil versions as well? Making "chase cards" that are foil only would be bad for the tournament scene (imho).

For me, the only use I have for foils is to trade them at a premium (say 2 for 1 foil for non-foil) to those who drool over having their cards shiny. I have yet to see a single foil for any ccg that made me want the card badly enough to value the foil version any more than just barely marginally better than the non-foil version. Personally, I'm more concerned with having the underlying art be killer, than with snazzy printing tricks. (And let me voice now that I hope never to see a Rebecca DeGuay card for ME.)

So many people DO car about foils. Surprisingly enough, many people have not bought into the game yet because there are no foils. There are a whole world of collectors out there that buy ONLY foils. In all I have been lead to believe that nearly 20% of the market is addicted to foil cards and would buy 20 times more if foils were in the packs. So we are doing this asap. We will NOT be offering foil cards that cannot be found non-foiled. However, we will be putting several cards from each new set into the precons, and not in the boosters.

I've never knew that any game had foils that had no corresponding non-foil version.
Anyway, I think it's good news that ME will be getting foil versions of cards. Maybe eventually they can do like Vs. and have a foil in every pack.

Yugioh had foils that had non corrosponding non-foils it works pretty good until upper deck makes those cards commons at a whim.Upperdeck is not too caring about the secondary market which can make or break a card game.

Both are vital to a card game.
