ME Events now on Sundays at CCC

Collect a Card and Comics is now the unofficial ME Headquarters of Chicago, and if you like or love ME then we are the place to play at. CCC is now running Leagues every Sunday, so come play for FREE with all of us. But the fun doesn't end there.

Any given Sunday that has at least 8 players will run a Sanctioned ME tournament in Standard Constructed...for FREE!!! That's right, just bring your deck and you won't have to pay a dime to compete. Prizes will still be awarded through ME product and/or even store credit, based on attendance. Best of all, any Sanctioned event as you know will earn you those valuable points in ratings.

We may also hold Sanctioned Drafts (with some entrance fee) that will start earning points for this year's all expense paid trip to Gencon!

So I invite all, come now and come strong! Windies, Chicagoans, Peorians, all Illinoisans and all other neighbors...what are you waiting for?

I still think you would have won MEGA if you went, VP...not Syn, Chris or anything else IGS can muster have anything on you...

But I am excited. I want to get back into the mix. I haven't played Sanctioned since I've been a member here almost, but I've always smelled the blood. I'll take candy from these babies all day!

So what happened this past Sunday? I was curious to see what happened with the all-Reckoning Character format.

I was also toying with a rule of having to use one of the alternate win conditions other than damage in your deck.

It wasn't a tourney, just a special rule for this week's league play. I expected a lot of Thandore Rogue variants, mostly aggro. So I used Belphegor stall control, with Structures mind you...I did alright, especially when I could keep Gossipmongers in check.

I take nothing away from Syn....he is the champion and rightfully so. I am not sure I would have been able to put up with the 3 hour stall style matches that he endured. I would have snapped and gotten my butt thrown out. LOL!
I beg to differ with syn's recounting of the facts. Ask Chris how many times he has beaten me in tournament play. Then, ask yourself how many times you have beaten me in tournament play. The answer is the same....ZERO. So exactly how did I get dominated?

Oh well, I don't care what we do on Sundays, I just am looking forward to Sanctioned Events...they're so important. Non-sanctioned is fun at all, but if you can play for ratings points that might actually reward you with a free trip to Gencon, why wouldn't you want to, right?

Basically, if you like ME, and you're with us on Sundays, I guarantee there will be something to do. Come to CCC!
