a few questions

1. how old do you have to be to become a judge? I'm 17 and i was wondering if that was old enough.

2. does fire vortex's effect still deal damage to something protected by a globe of invincibility. fire vortex says the damage cannot be prevented in any way but the globe says that the creatures being protected by it cannot be damaged in any way.

3. if i used a goblin sharpshooter to snipe off a slave driver, but my opponent plays a dust of invisibility on it with a lady mcdonnan wouldn't my goblin sharpshooter's effect go off before the dust is played? the sharpshooter has speed 8, lady mcdonnan's speed is 0, and the dust's speed is 9. so my sharp-shoot would go off first (speed 8) then the item would be played (because lady mcdonnan plays things at speed 0) then the dust can be sacrificed last. I say this because my sharp-shoot would kill of the slave driver before the dust is even played on it so my opponent cant sacrifice the dust if it was never actually played on it. am i correct in saying this?

4. if my opponent plays a dust of invisibility on a creature that is attacking me, can i still block that creature? is blocking a creature technically targeting it?

5. if grimus attacks a lord sutraps would sutraps still lose one health permanently even though sutraps prevents one point of damage? grimus says that the attacking or defending character or creature looses one health permanently, so it doesn't state that it is "damage."

Creature(s) protected by Globe of Invincibility will not be damaged. However, if any of the creatures that casted become destroyed as a result of Fire Vortext then the Globe will become destroyed. Still, the creature(s) protected by the globe at the time the Fire Vortex resolved would not be touched.

Dust of Invisibility has HIDDEN at with a Speed of 9. HIDDEN means that the card can be played at Reaction Speed of 9, at which time the card can then be Sacrificed also at speed 9, both would happen before your sharpshooter at speed 8.

Blocking or Defending a creature would be considered targeting. So if the creature becomes invisible, like with a Dust of Invisibility, then the creature would essentially become unblockable.

5. Grimus is not doing damage, so Sutrap will lose 1 health permanently.

I have another question.

The card renewed resources says at the bottom: (When Renewed Resources is put into your Discard Pile shuffle it into your Resource Pile) My question is does this happen anytime the spell if put into the discard pile. For instance if my opponent plays a wizard battle in reaction to renewed resources. renewed resources would go to the discard pile after being fizzled, but would the last part in parentheses still work? What about if it hits the discard pile as a result of it being discarded from my hand.

The question has been brought up a couple of times where i play. I'm just not sure of the answer on this one.

As printed, I would read it as no matter how it is put into the discard pile, shuffle it into the resource pile.

OK thanks. I thought thats the way that it would be done, but i just wanted to be sure as the judge where I play said it only works when the spell goes off.

One thing you should always remember with this game is that whatever the card says is EXACTLY what it does. If ever there is a grey area on a card that would be a problem that may need to be errataed. Take everything printed on each card very literally.
