The tourney today went very well. One thing that needs to be noted was that there were deck types other than wizard decks. One player was running a Glye deck that did pretty well(I think that he came in third) The others were a suicidal-type deck(think enhanced version of the Grimus starter with little to no magic) and there were a couple of archer-type decks(One of them came in second!). I think that this shows that other characters are still usable and even very much tournament worthy. I saw Grimus, Lord Zycon, Lady Phe' Ronde, Glye, and there may have been another. There was a fair diversity of characters and decks built around them and most of the non-wizard decks still did pretty well. This proves that other characters are still usable and that creature/attack-based decks are definitely tournament viable. There is no character who is the end all, all powerful character. they all have their strengths and weaknesses and most of them are playable.

Anyway, I just wanted to get that out. Go ahead and post any of your comments about the tourney on Saturday.

yes i do agree how the tourney was diverse. i was very dissapointed in my deck in round 2. it only drew creatuures and all spells and we went to time i had more damage.... the archer deck is OK ... just seems like it needs tweaking. the glye deck is great vs all non peacetime decks. i still think wizzards pwn.

I have not been to a local tourny yet. Could you post the deck that you played? Maybe we can help give different ideas and such. It sounds like crazy worrier deck does well. Did anyone play an agro wizard deck. I heard that they are good, and have not seen any builds. What about a recuiter deck with the recruiter camp???

Hope to see some more deck ideas out there posted. It sounds like there are a bunch of them out there...

If anyone has a Peace time deck that they could list that would be great. I dont understand how it can be so good since you are only having 1 action a turn and it is to keep the peace time alive. Maybe I am missing the point of the deck but to see a general list of the deck would be great.

JC, No disrespect intended but, Most people who have created a deck thats been doing well are not going to share their successful ideas, But if you go to an event and play against them u can make a mental note of what you saw. I've seen you ask a few times now for players to post their decks, instead try checking out www.mysticalempire.com/combos.html you'll find some pretty good starting points at that URL. If anyone wants to be real cool and put some Ideas up that would be great, but I'm sure after the MEGA face off takes place you'll see some Excellent Decks posted.

I have seen that sight before and still has the same stuff on it. i guess that i would like to see what decks are out there but thats cool if people dont want to share there ideas. I would like to see the game as a whole grow and maybe having some decks posted would help new poeple want to get involved. some of the decks on the url you listed are not even playable anymore. Like so many games noone wants to give up there secrets but maybe there are other cards that work better with different combos. But who knows maybe I will just have to show up and watch to see what decks are being played and do a tourny report.

I have only been playing for about 1 month now and have found that I am one of the more advanced players in my area. i guess that I would like to see what else is out there that I am not seeing.

i am a member there as well. I have only seen one deck list and if thats yours it looks like fun. I am a lil confused about a card that is getting all kinds of attention. Peacetime. Its good but I just dont see it as broken. I probly have not seen right combination of cards with it.

yay that is the deck that has been winning me stuff. it looks OK. but once u see it play it is outstnading. i have gone 15 turns with zycon alone. that was my best. ive gone 10 and 8 with others. its good caseu zycon can cast EVERY SPELL.

I am onlymissing the banishmentfor that deck. I am sure I can find something toreplace it.

I just dont see when you would want to cast peacetime. I guess that if I build the deck and see itplay I will understand it. It seams to limit what you can do by only having 1 action per turn.

when u have 2 wizzareds and zycon. u cast it. it completely nullifys some decks. like warriors. and if u hafve 2 wizzards u cast ur burn till they die while they sit and watch.

I am glad to see other decks did pretty well. I still doubt the viability of agro style decks with Peacetime in the mix.

I completely agree with the above statement. Until more viable solutions are available for agro style decks to deal with Peacetime, I think they will remain as second tier decks.
So after the last tourney, how would you guys rate the top decks. Here is my feedback from playtesting. I will clarify if people have questions as what the decktype is.
Tier One: Wizards control, Grimus control- Both decks have answers to just about anything
Tier Two: Grimus Agro, Glye Agro, Onager/Ballista- While can be super fast, loose to either Peacetime being played or Wizard lockdown
Tier Three: Sutraps Agro (oh, have the mighty fallen!), Archers, Angels, Dragons (DON'T use the dragon character, try Lady Phe' Ronde)
For Arashi and synergy (and anyone else).... Would restricting Peacetime to Rare status (two in a deck) bump the agro based tier two decks to tier one? It seems like that one card is holding them back. I would like to see the a few more viable top decks and this seems like a simple solution.

I forgot rogues...put them in tier 2 (playtesting info from synergy and arashi). I would have rated them tier 3 but they seem to have had better builds they mine.

My deck took the top spot in that tourney. It wasn't quite the same deck that I last played you with however. It was a mixture of lock down, utter field destruction, and my ultimate defense combo.

I do think that making peacetime rare would be a good idea. it still keeps it fair for the users while giving aggro style decks a chance to kill before they can get it out.

As for archers being third tier...did you see the archer deck idea that I posted. I'll post the whole deck list soon, but that deck is pretty good and can definitely hold its own. I'd say tier two would be better for that deck.

If you want a copy of the deck list that I used in the tourney then I will e-mail it to you if you want it for testing purposes. I just don't want to post it because I'm still using that deck and I don't want everyone copying it.

arechers are about tier 2. and for pecetime. i havent won with it or done wel with it IN A LONG TIME. and the deck arasia played focused on 1 card. sworn defender. that card in combination with honor guard makes it easy to have a fire elemental kil ur oppenents board and not urs. the main reason that deck slaughter mine is becasue i have HUGE trouble with creatures with big health. i just cant deal with it. and the other reason was he got sudden ilness both games and i didnt. it is a truley amazing card. i like the deck A LOT. i see room for improvemtn but the style is great.

and spiller u forgot one deck. Agrro wizzards. it is AN AMAZING deck if made correctly. spiller u also overestimate the lady hero. sure she is great by zycon can do amaizng things on his own.

Funny how you said that Synergy. I JUST finished making some needed improvements to my deck. I'm not sure if they are what you are thinking...but lets just say that I made my ultimate defense combo even better... ;D

Thanks for the complement on my deck by the way. Your deck was very good as well, but it didn't seem to play as well at the tourney as It did before. I can't wait to play against your new deck(s).
