Sorry to bug you big guy, I just wanted to confirm/clarify a few rulings before this weekend. 1. Pg 31 of the rulebook has this little tidbit I found. "Contract A Sub-Type of Item that cannot be removed by any means." The only card that I have seen with contract in it is "Devil's Contract". Is this definition/rule applicable to this card? Was this a sub-type that was dropped? Inquiring minds want to know. 2. Damage prevention...I will use Bella as an example but it is really a question about the "official" way that damage prevention works. My opponent attacks with a skeleton token, I use an action from Bella to prevent 2 damage to my character. The combat event resolves and no damage is dealt to my character. My opponent attacks again with another skeleton token and I do not block (it's beneath Bella to block a bag of bones) and the damage is assigned to my character. Is that second point of damage prevented as well? The real question is how long does damage prevention last? Until the end of the event? Until the end of turn? This is a bit tricky since the damage prevention must happen prior to the damage being done. Sorry for being such a PITA but an informed player is a better player. I hope I am not starting to become too much like Q, LOL.

1. The rule stands. I'm sure more contracts will come about eventually. 2. Unless the cards states "until the End of Turn" (like Quenavean) it only prevents damage dealt during that event (like Bella).

OMG! That is a huge development! Sutraps just got a huge kick in the pants, in a good way. I guess it is only good if you like getting kicked in the pants. This is a huge development on the tourny front. Damage prevention until end of the event makes sense, it was never spelled out. Makes sense

If you don't, I will. Maybe you and I can share the burden. Should I rename myself Q.2?

Not sure you want to be a Spiller LOL. You would then have to argue for more restrictions. It does seem weird that the Sub-type listed on Devil's Contract is a Parchment and not a Contract. The word from the Bigman is that Devil's contract cannot be removed by any means. I'm cool with whatever the ruling is as long is stays consistant.

Right, but with a justifiable rules defense. That has been what I've been all about lately...getting the language of cards to agree with the language of rules.

Sorry guys. I am trying to keep up with you and I am having a hard time. I am slammed with work and I am trying to keep up with questions and it's hard. Just keep on me and I will answer you when I can. I check the boards as often as I can, which is a lot, but I don't have the answer to every question at the tip of my tongue all the time, so I need to think on it a while, and then I forget. Just keep on me. You guys are awesome. A real HUGE help. Don't give up on me. =)

Page 31 of the rulebook defines contracts as a sub-type of an item that cannot be removed by any means. Keith has ruled that this DOES APPLY to Devil's Contract and that other contracts may appear in the future. Rejoice all Sutraps players, that is a huge bonus for your decks.

So if someone casts Purify on a Devil's Contract, does that or does that not turn the contract into a vanilla version of itself?
In other words, is the Devil's Contract still on the character but does nothing? Or is the DC too evil to be affected by Purify?
And Sneaky Snyder cannot steal a DC? Does the "cannot be removed by any means" mean "cannot be removed from the character or creature using it" or "cannot be removed from play"?
