when playtesting reckoning, I made a deck based around an infinite turn combo. It was fun, mostly defense. I've been out of it for a while, so maybe a rule has changed and it doesn't work, but here it is:
Time Portal+2 Relic Hunter+any Building (I used Town Hall)+10 free actions
Just keep moving the Relic Hunters in and out of the Town Hall, reactivating their ability to bring back the Time Portal. The actions aren't hard to get with a deck full of Tree-Ents and such. It was a fun deck, and a fun combo, but not terribly strong. Certainly not strong enough to make into a tournament-quality deck.

Dude, that would annoy a lot of people in my play group. I already go infinite at times with zombies and damage, but this owns all. I will have to keep this one in reserve. My rogue deck could pull this off easy since they don't move much until the end of an opponents turn. If that never comes, the rogues will own all. ;D

Nice try, but I am pretty sure this combo doesn't work. Relic Hunter reads "When Relic Hunter enters Play you may place an item from your Hand or from your Discard Pile into Play on Relic Hunter."
Time Portal is floating, i.e. it doesn't attach to a Character or Creature. So I do not think you can't bring it into play on Relic Hunter.

Red is right on this play. Relic Hunter may only grab items he himself can equip.
I've gone inf with Time Portal, but it's much more complicated. It's Time Portal, any creature with 2 actions that won't kill you, Sinking Battlefield on yourself, Wandering Cleric, Sneaky Snyder, Time Manipulator.
Whoa right? Well, fortunately, except for the Time Portal, I was already playing all of these cards in my deck, and at the time the deck was also inf draw, so finding everything was not difficult at all and I could pull it off 3rd or 4th turn if I wanted to, but usually did it later in the game after hiding behind a Peace Time all day.
Well, I thought I would share since you were awesome like that with us. Sorry it didn't work out, but I'm sure you'll think of something! I like where your head was with this one...

Heh, I'm surprised it wouldn't work. I played this deck in front of Keith plenty of times and he never said anything. Undoubtedly things have changed that I am not aware of. I'm sure I'll get back into the groove of things soon enough.

I believe Red and I have it right, but just to be sure, why don't you dig up Time Portal in the "Specific Card Discussion" section and post a general question to Keith? It's nice to get the ball rolling and see many of us involved. And like I said before, I like where your head is in trying to unlock cool comboes in the game...I believe that's where the strength of ME is.

I know that this combo worked in the past, however, I believe Q and Red are correct here. Because the Relic Hunter cannot carry the Floating Item. But this is certainly up for debate. I love a good debate. =)

The issue that i would have with thi combo is that Relic Hunter states "When Relic Hunter enters Play you may place an item from your Hand or from your Discard Pile into Play on Relic Hunter." the has to be placed on him is the part i have the issue with. Time Portal states that it is a floating item. Floating means not attached to any character to creature. Thus would not allow Relic Hunter to equip the Time Portal.
While on this topic, would sneeky snyder be able to steal this item? he would have to equip it, so again i would have to say no, but that is a discussion for S. Snyder thread.

this combo does nto work, the answer was found in the rule book.
Floating: A sub-type of an item that cannot be attached to any other card or be stolen. Page #: 22
Relic Hunter has to Bear the item, thus not allowing this to work... oh well, there is still a way to go infinate but it is a late game combo and most people will laugh at it. But trust me it works and beats Flying Sutraps about 50% of the time and walks over most other decks.
