Are there any different rules needed when playing Mystical Empire with more than 2 players? What have been your experiences when playing multi-player games. Thanks, Bob

Damage Tokens adding up before you Natural Healing phase might get interesting. Remember those stay on there until you remove them in the Natural Healing phase on your turn. So if you are playing with 5 people, it's going to be awhile till you can heal up your Creatures. I can see this working though.
You might want to have everyone attack the person to their left. When a person loses, you just attack the person to their left, until there is no one left.

I play multiplayer games all of the time. We don't change any rules, they are perfectly compatible the way they are. What I do is set up a decent defense and don't attack until someone draws first blood. It gets fun. We have had a five player game before. One word, WANDERING

To clarify further, know that as of right now the official ME rulebook does not include any provisions for multiplayer games, and much less are there as of yet official tournament events for multiplayer.
Personally, as TK has said, I also don't change any rules when playing multiplayer as the rules are very compatible as they are. However, as Samwise suggests, it could be very fun to get creative with some alternative forms of play. If you do end up incorporating some house rules so to speak, and find a mix or two that have worked very well for you, please come back and share with us. I'm always looking for ways to improve the quality of gaming.
If I may ask Bob, was your question just out of curiousity or did you come across a problem? We'd be more than happy in helping to address any issues if that's the case...

I also wanted to share this with you. ME has laid the groundwork for a proposed multiplayer format for ME, and it involves 3 on 3 teams with the leader of each team, called the Emperor, battles the other. I came across this in what ME calls the "League Kit" which is a package it provides retailers to serve as a guide on running sanctioned play. I have copy and pasted this for you.
The game is aptly named, "Mystical Empire"
This is a Team Format. Each team consists of 3 players. All players will have a Standard Constructed legal deck. Each players has his own category: Guardian, Warrior, or Emperor. Usually, the highest ranked team member is the Emperor. The Guardian cannot attack or use items, and is the only defense for the team. The Warrior is in charge of offense and can't block or defend. The Emperor has the final word on every action made by the team. The team should work together to win, but the Emperor can veto any decision made by one of his followers. A team wins when the enemy Emperor is defeated. Players cannot attack an Emperor without first destroying that Emperor's Guardians. However, an Emperor can be directly damaged. The Emperor can tell his followers what moves to make and can set up his own personal fellowship in preparation for later. Emperors and their personal fellowship can attack, block, and defend as normal, but still cannot attack an enemy Emperor unless its Guardians are defeated. Each match up consists of ONE game, single elimination.
I still believe that ME will unroll this format style in the near future, either as written or with some minor tweaks. I haven't played it myself but it seems like it would be really fun. You're welcome to try it, and hopefully you're report back on your results. Good luck!
Let us know if we may help further, and please ask anything if you have any more questions...

Keith: We played a 4 player game with the PC decks. The Lord Zycon deck appeared to have a distinct advantage. My question however was just a general one.By the way are Lord Zycons 4 Magic numbers doubled with Fervor? Bob

Fervor would infact double the Magical Ability of each category of Zycon.
As per the PC decks, I find that the Lady McDonnen deck has a distinct advantage over all others as none of the decks have an answer for Trade Agreement. This is assuming of course you remove 2 TA's before playing and replace with something else, because if you leave all 3 TA's in then it's more of a slam dunk landslide.

I hope that if they do try to make the Mystical Empire format a sanctioned one that ME takes a page from Magic's playbook and makes it so that if all three decks were made into one large deck it would still be legal.
I don't think there would be much fun or fairness in seeing three burn decks roast an opposing Emperor alive within 3-4 rounds, for instance.

You're right, and this subject had actually been discussed in Chambers, but if I remember correctly no decision was ever made...
