Only works on a Dwarf Bearer gains: +1 Power and may Disengage itself once per Turn without using an Action so long as it dealt Combat Damage this Turn. Disengaging happens at Speed 0. 9
I was wondering if this would work on Elder Gerdge sonce he is a dwarf, though he does not have that type, only subtype. It also saddens me that ENRAGE is worded in a way that does not extend it to characters. It would not be too broken, since Gerdge is one of the few it would actually extend to.

Dwarven Battlehammer will not work on him. Officially he is not a dwarf.

Hmmm...
How is he not officially a Dwarf if he has the subtype Dwarf Lord?
I have seen some ambiguity in types and subtypes, like Starlit Fairy and Chamelion Fairy. One is a Spirit/Cleric while the other is a Fairy/Spirit but Destroyer of Light takes them both out, and so will Soul Keeper.
Since the above mentioned examples say that the "victim" must be a spirit (either by type or subtype) and since the Battlehammer requires the bearer be a Dwarf (and Gerdge mentions that he is a Dwarf in his subtype) why should it not work on him.
I still wish ENRAGE would work with him too.

Also, might I add this to evidence in my favor: Ok, characters and creatures will only count as the subtype specified. Anything that says "counts as" is considered an extension of the subtype, meaning, that creature has more than one subtype. And since Gerdge has the subtype Dwarf Lord, he is both a Dwarf and a Lord. Unfortunately ENRAGE specifies type and creature. Gerdge is a Character and has the type Character (I am going to lament this for some time since he gives Dwarves ENRAGE, and yet he can't use it).

I know the whole spirit type/subtype thing is a bit annoying. Personally for me spirit should of always been a type with fairy as a subtype (going on the logic that all fairies are spirits, but not all spirits are fairies), and startlit fairy should "count as a fairy."
But Drawf is always the 'type.' never a subtype. And Gerdge type is Character. And his subtype is "dwarf lord" not "dwarf and lord"
I know a drawf deck would work way better if the hammer would work on him. But it doesn't.

All I can say is that to be a Type, like Dwarf, it must say this in the Type field of the card. Characters are Character. To be a dwarf you must have that in your type field. Being a Dwarf Lord does not make you a dwarf. Just like being a Dragon Lord doesn't make you a dragon.

Oh poo.
Gerdge should be allowed to have a toy, since Grimus and Sutraps (DC) have one. It looks like he's holding it on the card.

Just to clarify, a Dwarf can only be a Type, not a Subtype, because Dwarf is a race. All Characters have a type of Character, and only have subtypes if stated so by the "counts as".
