Alright, I have a deck I am about to start working on that involves curses, and I have a major question.
In the rules, it mentions a curse number, such as CURSE 6, but I have noticed this does not exist on curses. I am assuming ths has been replaced by the card with the CURSE mechanic is placed a number of cards down in a deck equal to its speed. Am I correct?
This needs to be changed in the rules too, just in case it confuses new players.

Yes, it becomes the (speed) card down.
So if it's speed 4, 1..2..3.. stick card in. At least that's how I understand it.
Although I think it would have been better to have each curse with a number. aka curse #. And it becomes that card down. Cause with curses, speed is bad. High speed should NEVER be bad. But I guess it's the cost of the speed, but I think the cost of the speed should be reflected in the cost of casting.
