I want to know if there are any plans for new exclusively promo cards. One of the things that intrigues me as a collector and casual player are promo only cards, legal in play or not. Maybe some sweet item or creature, maybe even some new characters.

We plan on having at least one new promo only card, but most of the upcoming promos will be foiled copies of pasts released cards plus a couple cards form Ninpo.

It would kinda be cool to see promos that "flow" with the set that comes out after their release. This could get people's attention for the release.

I hate preview cards, but I do like the hype aspect.
Will the nimpo cards be usable?

What I am talking about is not a "preview" card persay, but a card that goes with the theme of the next set, but is not actually a card from the set.

Like before the Ninpo set release a promo only character like an overpowered yet "balanced" emperor that would be nasty when combined with certain set exclusive mechanics and creatures/types/subtypes. This way people will be thinking about strategies before the set is released, but no one has to worry about the metagame since he will not be legal for tounament play, but possibly leagues.

I like this idea. I would prefer that promo cards remain balanced enough that they become tournament legal.

Hmmm, how about one of each. One normal one that can see some tourney play, while the other made for driving your playgroup insane.
I am looking forward to making a goofy ED deck, as well as a stupid Flink deck. They are promos made just for fun. That is what makes them appealing. If the promos were mundane, that would make them slightly less desirable.
