Okay I read the rules about curses and understand that they go into a resource pile of my choice when played and it is supposed to go down a certain amount of cards into the pile. I was going through my Reckoning cards and noticed that all the curse cards I have do not have a number next to the CURSE word. Does this mean it goes effectively on the top of the resource pile and is then played immediately by the player whose resource pile I played the curse into?

Actually curses go down a number of cards equal to the cards speed. for example the curse frozen in time has a speed of 4. you would take the top 3 cards off targeted players deck and put frozen in time face up as the fourth card then place the removed three back in the same order. once the curse is revealed it goes into effect.
hope this helps.

Yeah, Curses are fun to play when your opponent is drawing alot per turn, because even if they shuffle the deck, that card still gets put into whatever slot it was before.
