Ok. I am aware Keith that you have recently ruled that this card gets the benefits of the "contract" sub-type, meaning it's unremovability. I am not arguing. Quite the contrary, I agree because that is how I wanted the card to work originally.
Can you please just help me provide an explanation for others on how this works this way? I mean, the sub-type is Parchment, not Contract. Does having Contract in it's name simply make it so?

OH MY GOD, THAT SUCKS! It was suppose to have Contract for a Sub-Type. I guess now we could rule either way. To Do?

Now I have seen in previous posts that u guys would like to stay away from errata as much as possible, but Im pretty sure the best way to deal with this problem is to errata the devils contract to be a contract subtype instead of a parchment subtype...this way you can kill two birds with one stone...by dealing with the current problem and then you can also print cards in the future that have the contract subtype without putting "contract" in the title, which expands your future options when naming and creating cards...just an idea to help look out for the future of the game too...

Ummm...I'm going to have to go with the errata on this one. Change the sub-type to Contract here, on the ME website, and fix it in future printings if applicable. I don't know if you can get away with calling that a Contract the way it is now.

I agree with Q on this one. Better to change one card (and print it correctly in the future) then to change the rules for a card

Or add a line: Devil's Contract counts as a Contract.

In this case you have to errata Devil's contract because in the rulebook you actually define what a Card Sub-Type is and where it is. It would conflict tremendously.

I think you should just add text that says "Counts as a Contract" like the Creatures that say counts as a rogue. Leave it as both contract and parchment. Or can contracts not be destroyed at all i was thinking they just couldn't be sacrificed by the person who played them. It could be kinda a cool thing to use your own elemental to kill a contract when its in your way.

It has been officially ruled that as of now this card is not a contract since it was never printed as such on the card. Devil's Contract can be removed or destroyed. There are currently no items with the sub-type contract.

In fact the term 'Contract' has been stricken from the rules all together.

In fact the term 'Contract' has been stricken from the rules all together. Will the 'contract' sub-type ever see print? Cause I liked the idea of a card that would never leave me.

i presonally think that the contract idea was the way to go on this subject, noly becuz it opened a few unexplored doorways for us, but if this is the new ruling then perhaps we will see contracts in the future?

The fact that the creators removed the definition of contract from the rules implies it is not likely that we see contracts any time soon. Never say never however....
