Sorry for the newbie questions...
I was wondering if all the cards that say "put directly into play" means to place a card (whatever the case may be) in play disengaged or engaged?
Also, how does CURSE and GROWTH work?
Thanks!

In most cases yes, the creature that was put directly into play would come into play fully engaged. There are some exceptions though. Lets say that I play a pathfinder which lets me put any creature directly into play, and I put in a vorex with it. The vorex would enter play disengaged because it says so on the card itself. Basically, any creature that says comes in to play disengaged would enter play disengaged no matter how it enters play.
With a curse you target a players deck(it can be yours or your opponents) then put the curse in the chosen deck face up as the X card from the top where X is the speed of the curse. For instance if a curse had a speed of 4 then you would put that curse as the fourth card in the deck and as soon as it is revealed it goes into effect.
Growth is pretty simple. Lets say that you play a dragon that had GROWTH 3. when you play the dragon put as many time tokens on it as it says after GROWTH. In my example you would put 3 time tokens on it. During each of your time phases you remove one time token from all unhatched dragons on your side. once all of the time tokens are removed the dragon gains the abilities listed in the parentheses on the card.
Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks for the clarification! Makes sense now!
I do have a question about the CURSE ability. But before I ask, when I go home I'll check it out. Just trying to see what strategy(s) would come out of using CURSE.
Thanks!
