Just wish to make sure this card works the way I think it does. The gain for remaining Fully Engaged is permanent, right? Disengaging them and then using them to cast or help cast a spell doesn't make them start back over at zero, does it?
Also, the Creature needs to remain Fully Engaged for an entire Round to gain the bonus, correct? Does this mean that the Round it was hired does not add to its Magical Abilities (and thus, at the beginning of the second Round it is In Play, it has not gained any) because it entered Play during the Round and thus was not Fully Engaged for the entire Round. This would mean that the Creature does not have any Magical Abilities until at least the beginning of the third Round it is In Play, unless some other card provides them. Also, does this mean that even if you choose not to Disengage the Creature during you Disengage phase, if anything (whether controlled by you or an opponent) causes it to Disengage at any point during the Round, even if it is Fully Engaged again before the end of the Round, it gains no bonus?

You are correct in everything you said here, except for, the three round bit. You can only play Bookworm Bilkins on your turn, so when it come back around to your next turn it has been a complete round, so you would then put a token on him.

Well, they could be put into Play by some means other than being Hired. (Slavemaster, leaving a School of Archery, etc.) I just wasn't sure if entire Round meant they had to be there Fully Engaged from the start of one of your Turns to the start of your next Turn for it to be an entire Round that they were Fully engaged. So, if you used a Slavemaster to bring them out, or took their Action to exit a School of Archery, on your Turn, they would gain the bonus on your next Turn? What if you did either during an opponent's Turn?

You bet your keyster....lol!
This is how I would rule this scenario.
A Round is defined as the completion of all player's turns. Thus, I deduce that a card must be in play during each turn that makes us up a Round for it to be considered to be accredited in such a fashion, meaning that for a card to be declared to be in play in whatever condition is required would have to be so by no later than by the End of Turn Phase of the Player who went first in that game and last until the conclusion of the turn of the End of Turn Phase of the Player who went last.
So you should hire him during your turn, or put him play by any means during your turn. As long as he ends the turn with you, and it's still alive at the end of opponent(s)'s turn, then he gets his bonus between turns (after the end of their turn and before the beginning of yours.) Thus, if you Disengage him during the first Disengage Phase he would have 1 to all his magic.
However, if you Slavedriver him into play during an opponent's turn, he has missed your part of the round, so he would have to wait until the entire next round to gain anything.
We good?
