003 Grimus Gravorcious Character Death ? 2 0 10 All creatures under your control have False Loyalty and do not Damage Grimus when they Abandon. Grimus cannot be Damaged by Creatures with zero Loyalty, so long as you Maintain a Dark Tower. Whenever Grimus Defends or Attacks the Attacking or Defending Character or Creature loses one Health permanently. 9 0 0 0 0 Michael Waters CH

I am pretty sure that Grimus kills creatures with only one health but I seem to remember some card that says a creature does not die by having zero health. Am I confused?

It's actually kind of funny that nowhere do I see in the Rules that it states that a creature dies if its health is 0, but by the definition of the term Health...
"...is the number of damage tokens a creature can take before it is destroyed."
By that you can infer that a creature doesn't need any damage to kill it...then kill it.

To clarify, what I was thinking of was the Slaves ruling, which isn't quite the same thing. That says being a slave won't drop a creature's health below one.

Tricky! But no. Slaves will not drop below 1 from the simple effect of being a slave. However, you can still later reduce it's health to 0.

I wonder if anyone else noticed this....
but why does grimus only reduce the health of attacking or defending creatures/characters?
What if he attacked the character and a creature only blocked? What if they didn't and are not defending?

Hi guys...I just noticed this for some reason, and let me tell you it is a very sound point. It caught me by surprise to say the least cuz for some reason it just never came up.
After discussing with Keith on this matter during Gencon, it is currently ruled a bit oddly. Grimus' attack is effectively nullified if blocked, and also if it is not responded to at all!
I will still debate this issue in Chambers as to perhaps reviewing this a little further, but rest assured that as of right now that this is the correct way to play Grimus...

Although I didn't like it cause it made grimus way weaker. His attack ability is awsome, unhealable damage that can't be prevented. But now it seems only good for defending. sigh...

I know this too has been at least partially ruled on before, but with Grimus what loyalty should creatures be considered to be at? I want to know so I can figure out how to Grimus fairs against the Emperor's Crown card.

Omg, I never thought of that.
Well, since infinity has been ruled as not a number (in the case vs deity status). I would say that they have no loyalty, and the crown wouldn't work. But don't take my word for it, I'm not a judge.
Yet.

Tirus, I'm confident you'll make judge.
With Grimus having an infinity symbol for Leadership, all creatures he controls with the False Loyalty will have a non-numbered undefined Loyalty. Thus, creatures he controls will still hit or damage an opponent Character, even those that might have originally had a Loyalty of less that 3. His Dark Knights for example still wreck enemy Emperors! lol

Ok, I would love to have played against a Grimus deck and pull out that Crown and laugh, but it was either going to be one way or the other.
