Ok I understand what your saying and I know your well meaning and all. Just in this case you are completely wrong. . .LMBO.
If vorex still did what it did and was limited to UR with no recruitment ability it would it would see less play and would be a special card there is nothing wrong with vorex as is as a special card. We need them to bring in people. We need lots of combos and yes that does bring in people but so do special imbred cards. So lets keep that in prespective.

Frank, Never ever ever say....."you are completely wrong". Agree to disagree. You have your opinion on how the card should be fixed, others have their own opinions. Blantant disregard of opposing views is going to snowball into a flame war. I like the idea of maintaining his current common status and making him come into play tapped. It will promote creative decks to use his amazing ability either through Grimus or loyalty raising cards. It also doesn't make the playsets of the card people currently have nearly worthless. I would like to see it loose it's Wizard status however (to cut down on searching). Your solution doesn't force anyone to adjust their decks other than dropping the count from 3 or 4 to 1. It will still be in every deck. It is a simple and effective solution. I would just prefer an adjustment that promotes more creativity and diversity of deck builds.

Mike I was joking it was a take off on that thing Q does. Anyway I wish you would have addressed my argument that of we are trying to sell a game and vorex as a UR sells.

IF he was printed as an UR, I would say your point would hold water. The reality is that he is in the common slot and anyone who buys a few packs will get their "UR Vorex". If the games success is hinging on Vorex/combo, we have a bigger issue than errata on a single card. I believe that selling a game on comborific-one turn kills is a terrible idea. If a game is a one-trick pony affair, people will get board with it right away. I think balance and diversity is key to longevity and success. "Come play our game 'cuz it has super combos!" is a recipe for disaster.

I also am glad you edited your initial comment of "your completely wrong". It now comes across much less judgemental and more along the lines of how you may have intended it to read.

well it's not it's just vorex is actually a pretty cool concept as a UR IMO but as long as it gets fixed I will be happy. I think players like combos there are other players who like pretty or impressive cards. Right now I know DU is very on our heals but there aren't many UR that are creatures and it would fix the wide use problem. Vorex as concept at least in my mind is a UR. I am thinking of crossing other players over like Yu-Gi-Oh players not just MTG and I know they like pretty, effective cards.

I think Yugi players would take more out of this game than magic players... because the common Yugi player isn't a hardcore fanatic... he's open to a few games (naruto, inuyasha, ect...) and he could pick up a new one quickly.... now the common magic player is a dyed in the wool magic player, who will live and die by the mana....

I am with you LINK. That is my experience being in this for a bout 5 years now. Magic players... that is a very hard shell to crack. However, if you can, they becaome seriously fanatical about the game. If I am to listen to what Magic Players who play this game say, then this game is MUCH better than Magic. But getting them to even try is sometimes enough to make you want to jump off a bridge!

Thanks Keith, I've demo'd the game to 5 new people this week and I know 4 of em were yugi players... the magic players I've asked for the most part just shrug and say something to the point of, "eh... I'll just stick with magic"

Wow, this seems off topic. Did I miss a reference earlier or something?
